HANDLING CRITICISM

Alfred is a student of a tertiary institution in Nigeria(University). He's a 300 level student studying Biochemistry. He has a problem; most of his colleagues talk bad about him just because he has always been leading others in class with a very high CGPA. He has had a tough time trying to deal with his critics.
One day in the lecture theatre, a Professor asked a question and it seemed nobody was able to answer it. Alfred thought of giving it a try. He stood up and answered the question correctly as most students sighed. The Professor was amazed and awarded him a prize. After the lecture was over, he was the talk of the day. His classmates murmured and said hurtful things about him. A girl that sat right behind his back said, "he is just full of himself, he's not even really outstanding...ehn..Just a boring bookworm". Alfred felt really sober that day.

Criticism is an act of judging someone's merit or fault. It is just finding fault with someone or something.
We live in an imperfect world with imperfect people. Not everybody is going to like you. The more successful you are, the more criticism you'll encounter( Joel Osteen). You shouldn't take it personal. There are so much responsibilities attached to being successful, one of it is handling criticism. Some people are just going to be there waiting for you to do something great. They try to clog up your joy by being critical about you. They want to drag you down with their words.
When someone is being critical towards you, rise above it. It's just one of those foggy moments, be strong to face it. Some words could be really poisonous but don't let it get to you. There's so much liberty when you accept the fact that "not everybody is going to like you". The good in you stares up the bad in your critics.
Remember, "a fault-finding tongue is like a venomous snake". Don't let it poison your mind. Dear Critics, celebrate the victory of others and God will do something better in your life. Remain blessed, have a lovely weekend!!!! Anne cares.
