HYGIENE

I think this is not right or well maybe, funny to others. Why do you 'pee' in public without proper sanitary measures??
.
.
.
.
... That is how I boarded a bus from Ikotun to Egbeda and there was this pretty lady that notified the driver to stop the bus because she was very uncomfortable. She wanted to urinate.
.
.
.
She alighted from the bus and went straight to a nearby fence at the side of the main road.  Up till now, I wonder how she took off her pants(hehe.. professional something). The next thing I saw was that she rubbed her hands on her skirt and acted like nothing happened.
.
.
.
Nothing to clean up, not even a linen to wipe her hands (some Nigerians can fall person hand sha).
.
.
.
Why wouldn't  you use the toilet before embarking on a short journey?? If it's a long journey, take things that are necessary for you to stay clean after urinating. Baby's wipe is just three hundred and eighty naira. It might probably be five hundred naira now because of the dollar rise (that's Nigeria for you). Seriously, help your ministry as a lady. Don't go about with cute dresses and a nice make-up only for you to pose filthy in public. Peace!

HAPPY 2016!

First, let me get my dancing shoes on (smiles). Before I get started with the dance, let me take time to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR. It has been God all the way. My profound gratitude to my wonderful family, friends and relatives. Thanks for being part of my 2015. Hope to see more of you all in 2016.

I think I should share this right here. I had to travel back home from Ilorin to spend Christmas with my family. The crowd at the park was very discouraging, I thought I wouldn't be able to board a bus. I came to the park with a friend and he left for another park just because he couldn't wait any longer. I decided to wait a little while and immediately he left, I got a bus at an affordable price to convey me to Lagos. He called later on while I was at Ogbomoso, that he was unable to get a bus. Wow!!! Impatience... just some few minutes would have solved the problem. I know you are thinking why I shared this. Well, I'm definitely talking to someone out there who has been patient since last year hoping for things to turn around.
I know you've waited for so long and this is the 11th hour. It's going to be painful if you turn your back on God right now. It's a new year and things are going to turn around right this year. Don't quit this moment, get a reward for your patience. Patience is not just the ability to wait, it's the ability to keep the right attitude while waiting.
It's a new year and wonderful things are going to happen. "Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience". A moment of patience saves a thousand of regrets. Everything will come to you in the right moment. Have a great year!

THE PRIDE OF A WOMAN

"Enough!! I'm done with you. You can't afford almost everything I need. You are just a church rat. Damn!!! How did I get into this mess??? shit, I'm done with you." Jade screamed in anger as Michael watched her in silence.
She picked up her cell phone and dialed a number on her contact list.
"O my God!! Alhaji, pick up the phone now", she uttered without hesitation.
"At last", she said and tried to smile as she spoke to Alhaji in a low tone. She teased him as usual and demanded fifty thousand naira for a change of wardrobe. She slammed the door as she walked out of Michael's apartment.
It had been a long day for Michael and the worst thing that could ever happen was an escalated argument with Jade. Michael and Jade had been in a relationship for over a year until now. They used to enjoy every moment with each other although Jade was extravagant. She loved to wear the latest shoes, clothes and accessories. She loved going on vacations and used the latest phones and gadgets. Michael  tried always to meet up with her demand. He's a landscaper and just started running a company some few months back. He had always told Jade to engage in something creative that would fetch her some money that she could use to satisfy some of her needs.
Jade didn't like the idea of working. She felt it was too stressful for a young lady like her in her early 20's. All she does is depend on men for all she needs. When Michael was unable to pay for some expensive things, she asked other older men for money. Michael tolerated her for long and was happy she ended the relationship. He had always admired ladies that were independent.
.
.
.
.
.
"Don't be a woman that needs a man, be a woman that a man needs."
A real lady is clothed in strength, dignity and style. She doesn't rely on any man to satisfy her material needs. I want to talk to ladies, girls and women out there that run after men just to satisfy their material needs (Yes! Yes! and Yes! I'm talking to you). You don't want to be creative, you don't want to study hard and you don't want to learn something that will uplift your present life. All you want to do is to spread your legs for men just because of money( Ahn Ahn!). Whether you stand in the streets and wait for men or you do home services for different men, it's still the same prostitution. You are selling your body!
By the way, how much are they going to pay you... a hundred thousand??? Habba woman!!! That's the worth of someone's handbag. Your dignity for iPhone6??? Chill!! It's so pathetic. Next, the men laugh at your stupidity and make mockery of your miserable life... How about that??
.
.
You want money?? Have you forgotten If you can think it, you can do it?? or should I remind you that in order to be irreplaceable, you have to be different (in a good way). Get busy with your hands, work hard in your studies. Stop running after every man with a full pocket. Have some self-respect, ladies!
"Money only impress lazy girls. When a woman works hard, a man with money is just a bonus not a ladder to upgrade."
Oprah Winfrey, Alexa Von Tobel, Laurene Powell Jobs, Sofia Vergara and our very own Linda Ikeji have made it through hard work and not through men. Hope you learn from that.
.
.
Every man wants to be with a woman (A good woman!). A woman who is independent, beautiful in thoughts and actions. Beautiful for her ability to make others smile and amazing for not just her temporary look, but for her determination and strength to carry on through every storm deep down her soul. Who's got that?? A real woman and that's her pride.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!

This is what I have for you today;

"Everybody isn't your friend.
Just because they hang around you and laugh with you doesn't mean they are your friends. People pretend well. At the end of the day, real situations expose fake people so pay attention!"

"Living a meaningful life is not about being rich, popular, highly educated or being perfect. Life is about being honest, being strong, real, humble and able to reach out and touch the lives of others while holding gratitude in your heart."

"No matter how badly people treat you, never drop down to their level. Just know you are better and walk away."

"Don't cry over the past, it's gone. Don't stress about the future, it hasn't arrived. Live in the present and make it BEAUTIFUL."

"Never get so busy trying to make a living that you forget to make a life."

I hope this helps you as you carry out today's activities. Do have a fulfilling and wonderful day today and days ahead. Stay blessed!

PUNCTUALITY!!

"Punctuality is the soul of business,
the habit of doing things at the proper time.
Always keeping time and never late for duty,
will surely make a man successful in life"

The alarm rang, it was five minutes after five in the morning. Stephen had a job interview by 8am. He thought it was quite early to get out of bed. He switched off his alarm and went back to sleep. At about 7 o'clock in the morning, he could hear the footsteps of people hurrying to get a bus. It was a Monday morning likewise a busy morning. Stephen dashed out of bed and went straight to have his bath. He was running late and had to skip breakfast just to catch up with time. Soon afterwards, it was cloudy and then came the ''rush hour" . At quarter to eight, Stephen was still rallying around to get a bus when it began to rain heavily. Finally, he got a bus that conveyed him to the company where the interview would be held. He missed the interview because he arrived there late.

Punctuality is a characteristic of being able to fulfill an obligation before or at a previously designated time. It entails being prompt, precise or exact.
Time and tide waits for no man. Therefore, it is important to make the best use of your time. Punctuality is one of the best ways to make use of time. It adds much importance to one's personality. Punctuality is quite kin to regularity. Regularity is working according to rules and programme of time.Punctuality allows us to finish our work at the appointed time. A person who is punctual saves his own time and reveals integrity. Punctuality is the stern virtue of businessmen and the graceful courtesy of princes.
"Promptitude is not only a duty but it is also part of good manners. It is favourable to fortune, reputation, influence and usefulness. A little attention and energy will form the habit, so as to make it easy and delightful."

MAKING PEACE WITH YOUR PAINFUL PAST.

Evelyn decided to check her mail box one Saturday morning. She opened it and saw it was from a friend that betrayed her eight years ago. She felt so uneasy when she read the message and began to recall what happened a long time ago. Well, the universe in its infinite wisdom decided to throw a little reminder of her past and the outcome wasn't too good. She thought she had let go of her past until she felt so worried that she couldn't do anything that morning. It took time for her to become still and stable. She decided to accept her friend but had to reframe the relationship.

"You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present"- Jan Glidewell.

There are situations, people and events we don't like and aren't able to change. We have no choice than to accept it. Accepting one's painful past makes it hurt less. The past doesn't define you and it shouldn't ruin your present.

"We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is to play on the one string we have and that's our attitude."- Charles Swindol.

No matter what happened in the past, greater things are yet to come. There's no need playing the victim role. Don't waste your time and energy, it won't aid in any way. Be grateful for where you are today, focus on the present here and now.

"Gratitude for where you are today is a great antidote for a painful yesterday."

The past becomes dangerous when it robs you of the present and it's also destructive when it blinds you to the future. Remember, you cannot change what happened in the past but you can change how you view it. Forgive those who have wronged you and let it go. Never be a prisoner to your past, don't let it destroy you, deter you or defeat you but let it strengthen you.You can't erase the past but life gives you the opportunity to put it right. Don't forget to entrust God with the scars of your history, he'll surely fix all the broken pieces.
Happy weekend!!

ENJOYING EVERYDAY LIFE.

Vicky likes to think about tomorrow and the day after tomorrow without living the present day to the fullest. She ends up missing her daily routines just to prepare for tomorrow or the next. Most times, all what she thinks about never go as planned and this is because she isn't living the present moment the way she ought to. She doesn't really enjoy the blessedness of each day. Life comes in a step-wise manner. You have live today before tomorrow and tomorrow before the next.

"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience"- Eleanor Rossevelt.

Life is beautiful yet it's filled with several hurdles and challenges. One hurdle crossed and another comes forward, it goes like that on and on. Life is full of blessings yet it's not a bed or roses. Certainly, for you to enjoy life, you have to strive and make some efforts to overcome challenges day by day. Life is to be enjoyed and everyday comes with its own blessings, that's why we have to live the moment for the moment.
People have different perspectives and approaches towards life. Not everyone knows how to live a life that is worth living. One writer said, "One day, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching". The deep centre of life is the mind, therefore it's important for us to understand our state of mind. Happiness comes from the mind and to enjoy everyday of life, you have to be happy.
Life can be stressful but we still have to enjoy the precious gift of life everyday. The most important gifts of life are really things we can't see.Sow good seeds each day and remember not to judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you've sown. So therefore, to live life to the fullest you should:

* Say your prayers.
* Start a day with a smile.
* Get comfortable.
* Eat healthy.
* Accept past mistakes and correct them.
* Know you are loved and you live to love.
* Work hard.
* Hope for better days ahead.

"The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. The most thing you can do is to live inside that hope. Not to admire it from a distance but to live right in it, under its roof".

PROCRASTINATION; THE THIEF OF TIME.

James was a step away from achieving his dream. He was on the verge of becoming the best ever chemist in his college. Although, James was like a genius in his field, he still needed to prove himself practically. He engaged in other activities in college that were less important and this distracted him.  Instead of spending more time reading for his professional exam, he kept on postponing his reading and doing other less important activities. He thought all that was needed was a couple of weeks before the examination to read. He didn't prepare well because of procrastination. He ended up having a poor result and missed a scholarship for his masters and PhD programme in a prestigious educational institution.
Time is an essential factor in life. Time once lost, is lost forever. Procrastination steals the beauty of what time brings us.
Procrastination is to be slow or late about doing something that should be done in no time at all.It means to postpone or delay something needlessly. From my research, there are different types of procrastinators. We have:

* The Perfectionist, they find it hard to begin a task because of the thought of getting every detail perfect.

* The Idealist, they dwell on abstract things leaving reality aside.

* The Avoider, they avoid important tasks.

* The Calamity-procrastinators, they feel they work best under pressure.

* The Over-doer, they procrastinate an important task in order to complete less important ones.

Economists talk about scale of preference. This is very important because it helps us to arrange our activities according to our priority. This helps us not to procrastinate an important task or activity for a less important one. When work is delayed, profitable time becomes a waste. Know the value of time; snatch, seize and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination! Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. Remember, "time and tide waits for no man" & "a stitch in time saves nine".

BE OPTIMISTIC

A friend of mine had his hope high some years back that he'd be a lawyer by 2013. He struggled hard to make it possible. What happened? He ended up studying "fine art" in a Nigerian university and graduated in the year 2014. At first, studying fine art was something he never imagined but he expected the best and believed he was going to be successful. Now, his master piece is worth a lot of money.
Sometimes, life gives us what we need and not  what we want. Ever heard of these sayings:
"Every dark cloud has a silver lining."
"The darkest night is just before the dawn".
It's just a way of telling us how important it is to be optimistic.

Optimism is the tendency to expect the best or favourable outcome. It doesn't mean denying reality, it is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's all about hopefulness and confidence about the future as well as success of something. The meaning of life lies in our response to the challenges we encounter. The lessons of life are essence of our existence and optimism is a promising and fulfilling way to achieve more in life.
Optimism helps you to cope with the difficulties of life. It makes you act strong even when everything is going wrong. Intel co-founder, Robert Noyce once said, "optimism is an essential ingredient of innovation. How else can an individual welcome change over security, adventure over staying in safe places".
A person who is optimistic is referred to as an "optimist". Optimists are also business promoters. They see opportunities where others see despair. They are inspiring communicators and they rally people to a better future. Optimists keep their chins up and expect roses.
Be optimistic and proclaim the best in you to the world, not in loud words but great deeds. Have a pleasant evening!

BUILDING A GOOD SELF-ESTEEM.

I met a young lady earlier this week and she told me she was never going to be successful. I was so shocked to hear that. Why would such a young lady make that conclusion about her life?? Very pathetic. The reason behind this is because she grew up with the wrong people. Her father divorced her mother before she was born and about few months later, her mother married another man. She lived with her mother and step-father for years. Her mother didn't give her so much care, love and attention. Her step-father constantly reminded her of how unlucky, chubby and dumb she was. He told her she was a bad omen and was never going to be useful to the society. Nobody reminded her of how victorious she was and she focused more on those shortcomings and words of her step-father. As time went on, she kept pondering on those words of her step-father. Today, she has a negative opinion about herself and that resulted in a very low self-esteem.
I want to talk to everyone out there on how important it is to think right about ourselves. We talk more to ourselves than we do to others and this is called "internal dialogue". It's just like a voice in our mind that speaks to us constantly.

What do you meditate on? Do you have a wrong thinking pattern??

Too many people are in mediocrity because of these negative self-talks. Some people are living far below their potentials because of a low self-esteem. Quit listening to the negative voice. You should talk to yourself with empowering and affirmative words deep down on the inside. You should prepare your mind and know you are well-able to make the best out of your life. Rise up in your authority and change for the better on the inside because God has something in store for you. You have to make sure you keep the right thoughts in your mind.

Do you know who you are?

You are full of potentials, you are overflowing with creativity and you can accomplish everything in your heart. You have courage, strength, ability and determination. You are blessed and cannot be cursed because you are made in the image of God. Put your shoulders back, hold your head up high and be victorious. That's who you are.
If you cannot get along with yourself, you won't be able to get along with other people. Embrace the right thoughts, keep the right attitude and watch yourself soar like an eagle. Get your "internal dialogue" in the right direction and this will instill confidence. Remember, "You might be poor but your mind is a palace". Treat it right by keeping the right thoughts. Have a blessed weekend!

JACK OF ALL TRADES................

Hello everyone, happy weekend. I'm sure it's going to be a great weekend for football fans all over the world because the English premier league(EPL) kicks off today. I want to wish all English football clubs and fans good luck.
There is a great privilege in versatility and it is the spice of life. Can you throw a ball, bake some loaves of bread, invent something or write articles?? I've got good news for you. You can start doing all you know how to do because multi-skilling paves way for entrepreneurship. This is a quote I love:
"One thing at a time and that done well is a very good thing as many can tell"

Here is a story of a college graduate. Stella studied Food science and technology in college. She graduated with a GPA of 4.0. She began to search for a job after graduation. Luckily for her, she got a job in a reputable food processing company that was rated highly in about fifteen countries across the globe. She was assigned to work in the branding and advertising department. Her education had trained her in many different facets of Food technology but she lacked the creative skill of branding. After about six months of working, the company couldn't retain Stella. This was because of Stella's failure to be an all-rounded employee and failure to have other creative skills. If only Stella knew how to design properly and had improved on her packaging skills, she wouldn't have lost her job.

According to Wikipedia, "Jack of all trades, master of none" is a figure of speech used in reference to a person that is competent with many skills but not outstanding in any particular one. Such a person is also called a polymath.

'Master of none??" Well, being competent in many skills entails having master of at least one. You can as well have many skills and specialize in one.
I can rephrase that quote and say, "Jack of all trades, master of all" or maybe even one. It's better off than "Jack of all trades versus master of one". It is good to be academically sound in your field but it's also better to have knowledge in other fields and be creative in other aspects of your life. Remember, no knowledge is wasted. When you get the opportunity to learn something from other fields, grab it. It's the best you can do with your life. It's an advantage on your part. You'll be,

* Highly sell-able

* A professional chameleon

* More productive

I hope this piece has helped a lot. Have a wonderful weekend!

RACISM

Hello readers!! Today, I want to write about racism because I'm against it. I just have to use this medium to campaign against it. Let's join hands to make the world a better place. I hope you do the same.*smiles*

Santa came from a very poor background in Brazil. At the age of fourteen, she started fending for herself. She moved from Brazil to Mexico to search for greener pastures. She was working for a Telenovela organization when she met Javier. Javier was a white man while Santa was a black woman(Negroid). Despite their race, they loved each other. They planned to get married after a long period of courtship. Soon afterwards, Santa met with Javier's parents. His parents were never in support of their relationship because Santa was a black woman. His parents said it was forbidden for their son to marry a black woman. Santa felt so disrespected, she couldn't stand such discrimination after all she wasn't responsible for her skin colour. Santa never got married until she died.
.
.
.
The definition of race depends on where or when it's used. Racism has existed through out human history. It is responsible for racial separation. Racism is the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities or qualities specific to that race so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race(s). It consists of ideologies and practices that seek to justify or cause the unequal distribution of privileges.
We all know it is quite easier to relate with someone of similar culture, appearance and likeness. Sometimes, we feel threatened by other people's culture, custom and belief. Is that enough reason to discriminate? I bet not. I'm quite sure the main cause of racism is ignorance that's why I'm using this platform to create awareness. Let's learn to love ourselves more so we can love others better. Racial discrimination causes violence, social insecurity and even mental disorder. In a research, it was known that blacks (Africans) suffer from racial discrimination more than any other race. Don't hate anyone because of his/her skin colour or background, it is wrong. Achievements have no colour, don't be a racist.
We know nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and a conscientious stupidity. Remember, one true nationality is mankind. #Saynotoracism #Anti-racism. Have a lovely day.

TRANSGENDER; A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

Good evening everyone. It's the first Sunday of the month and I'll be writing from my religious point of view, pardon me. One thing that baffles me is that we live in a world where some people change their gender from one minute to the next. Well, I'm a christian and you know what I think? Hmm.. Never mind! Let's get started.
Transgender is a term that describes someone whose gender identity, gender behaviour or expression does not conform to that typically associated with the sex he/she was assigned at birth. How will you feel if your father is now a woman? Very awkward, I guess.
It's no news Bruce Jenner is now a woman( Caitilyn Jenner). Surprisingly, Caitilyn was never happy being a man. Caitilyn while growing up had this "gender dysphoria" feeling. After her hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and other surgeries, Caitilyn said she is happy being a woman. Fortunately, she won 'ESPY' courage award. Does it guarantee her happiness for life?? Let's leave that as a rhetorical question.
The truth is that God has a reason for distinguishing our gender irrespective of our religious views, race or family background. He knows why you are a male or a female. When you decide to change your gender, it's like you are telling God that he has made a mistake. How can God be wrong choosing your gender? It's like a great curse. Gender doesn't guarantee anyone's happiness. You are responsible for your happiness.
I wrote in my last post, " your will is greater than your emotions". If you choose to be happy and work towards it, you will surely be happy. Don't ever let your gender speak your happiness, let God's purpose in your life be fulfilled. Have a blessed week ahead!

MOOD SWING

I have this friend that is quite funny and cheerful. Well, she has a problem with her mood. Sometimes, she could be sad or feel unhappy after a few minutes of happy moments shared between us. I thought she was going to change someday and it seemed like a 'no biggie' thing to me until something happened one day.
We decided to go to a mall to shop for a close friend's birthday party. At the entrance of the mall, a teenage boy made a silly remark about her sarcastically. He said,"Girl, your eyeballs are bulging like that of a toad. I guess, you just woke up and rushed down here... Good morning!!". Some girls were laughing behind our back and I was smiling too. The funny thing is that we've never met the boy before and I thought it would end there, we'll just pick up our stuffs from the mall, pay our bills and have fun for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, it didn't go well that day, she took the boy's words personal. She dashed out and said she wasn't shopping anymore. I thought it was all a joke until she left me stranded. Thank God for 'the good Samaritan' that paid my transport fee. When I got home, I had to tell her I wasn't pleased with what she did. To my greatest surprise, she didn't feel remorseful. She said she was in a bad mood and couldn't even listen to me. It was really unbearable for me, I just had to let her be.
.
.
There's one thing we should strive for in life and that's consistency. Being moody is a selfish way to live. We all have emotions and feelings, being ruled by our emotion is an immature way to live.
Your will is stronger than your emotions, rule over your emotions. Don't be happy this minute and sad the next minute. Never take out your mood on someone else. Life is too short to deal with a sour attitude. The fact is that everybody gets upset but we've got to manage ourselves and adjust. We all have flaws and problems. We should all learn to be happy because if we are sad, it will drag us down and rob us of the gift of a wonderful life.

HANDLING CRITICISM

Alfred is a student of a tertiary institution in Nigeria(University). He's a 300 level student studying Biochemistry. He has a problem; most of his colleagues talk bad about him just because he has always been leading others in class with a very high CGPA. He has had a tough time trying to deal with his critics.
One day in the lecture theatre, a Professor asked a question and it seemed nobody was able to answer it. Alfred thought of giving it a try. He stood up and answered the question correctly as most students sighed. The Professor was amazed and awarded him a prize. After the lecture was over, he was the talk of the day. His classmates murmured and said hurtful things about him. A girl that sat right behind his back said, "he is just full of himself, he's not even really outstanding...ehn..Just a boring bookworm". Alfred felt really sober that day.

Criticism is an act of judging someone's merit or fault. It is just finding fault with someone or something.
We live in an imperfect world with imperfect people. Not everybody is going to like you. The more successful you are, the more criticism you'll encounter( Joel Osteen). You shouldn't take it personal. There are so much responsibilities attached to being successful, one of it is handling criticism. Some people are just going to be there waiting for you to do something great. They try to clog up your joy by being critical about you. They want to drag you down with their words.
When someone is being critical towards you, rise above it. It's just one of those foggy moments, be strong to face it. Some words could be really poisonous but don't let it get to you. There's so much liberty when you accept the fact that "not everybody is going to like you". The good in you stares up the bad in your critics.
Remember, "a fault-finding tongue is like a venomous snake". Don't let it poison your mind. Dear Critics, celebrate the victory of others and God will do something better in your life. Remain blessed, have a lovely weekend!!!! Anne cares.

ADVICE TO YOU

A lot of people have no good words to say
Few people tell their stories like a tale
A simple goodbye might ruin your whole day
A simple smile won't cost you a penny to pay
This little note is written close to a bay
To tell the masses to let their worries lay
Negativity kills, positivity is the way
Make your life so useful, even more than a clay
Life is too precious, make it your pet
In all you do, always put God first
Make cleanliness your friend, say no to dirt
Be a pacesetter, make your goals easy to get
Forget the old you, now is a new birth
Focus on what is important, no time to flirt
Though the road is rough, never forget the rain
You know life is a journey, make simplicity your train
The mountains are high, remember you're striving to attain
Know the rules, you just have to maintain
Work so hard, there's a lot to sustain
Make up your mind, keep your head straight no matter the drain
Disappointments might come, thereby causing you a great pain
Don't let it ruin your mindset, never let it strain
A winner at last is what you stand to gain.

SIMPLICITY; THE KEY TO ELEGANCE

I was travelling back to school in a commercial bus on a Easter Monday. I was in an extremely happy mood before I boarded the bus because I had a wonderful time with my friends and family during the short break. Unfortunately, I sat close to a young lady whose face was so scary that the little girl sitting at her left-hand side had to bury her head in her mothers' arms. The young lady's face was just like an art book designed with many colours all in the name of 'make-up'. She was looking like a masquerade. Ever seen a dark-skinned girl with a blonde hair???? Very awkward.
Why would someone in this world look like a masquerade only trying to be in vogue. Ladies, this is very appalling. Make-up is a way you can express who you are facially but it shouldn't be misused. It's good to look simple. It is the key to elegance. If you really don't know how to make-up, just be natural. Don't end up looking like a masquerade or something weird.

BE YOURSELF!!

"Please, please, please!!!!" Don't ever put your hands around my waist", Jummy shouted in a loud voice.

Jumoke Adeyeye popularly called "Jummy" was an outstanding student in her community. Innocent-looking Jummy had an encounter with a shabby-looking man with a weird and rough appearance usually described as a thug ("agbero"). She frowned as she rubbed her left hand sheepishly over her silky pleated gown. She felt she was harassed. You can describe Jummy as the "churchy" type (dotted earrings on, natural hair also wearing a long gown popularly called 'mary amaka').
Jummy got home at about 7:00pm. It had been a stressful day for her. She walked in tirelessly and told her grandmother she won't be having dinner. She went straight to her room and rested for a while but couldn't sleep. She thought over what happened to her earlier and concluded it's high time she started dating. She rested for a little while and scrolled through her contact list on her cell phone. "Hmm... Daniel, Daniel...", she smiled as she mentioned his name repeatedly. She dialed his mobile number. At first she was shy, then later she felt comfortable and they talked happily. Soon, they became friends and after few months, they started dating.

Jummy had two lovely friends; Jane and Teni. They were her best companion. They loved Jummy's relationship. Teni ensured the relationship stayed godly but Jane thought she needed a spice of romance in the relationship.
On one sunny afternoon, Jane called Jummy and described her as the "S.U chick" . She advised Jummy to be more out-going, romantic, fun-loving and also to be a "modernized babe". Jane sounded rather convincing to Jummy . Jummy thought about the advice and yielded to it. Soon afterwards, she began to change.
The next week at school, Jummy looked so different that nobody could ever recognize her at a first glance. She wore a short tight "pencil" skirt and a sleeveless blouse with a silver-coated necklace. Her hair was braided and she wore a pair of earrings.
"Wow!!! For the first time in two years", Jane teased.
"Well, no doubt you look gorgeous," she added.
Teni didn't like the way Jummy looked and Jummy didn't really feel comfortable. Some course-mates of hers thought it was nice, others looked at her like one big hypocrite. Jummy later realized she didn't change out of self conviction, she changed because she was compelled to do so.
The next day Jummy walked up to Jane at the cafeteria. She told her she wasn't going to change so she could fit into the society properly. She was going to be herself. Daniel was happy to hear her say that. He loved 'the simple her'.

Hello readers, are you like Jummy???? Will you ever change because of what a friend thinks about you? Are you going to always live for an applause? Let me say this: No matter who you are, not everybody is going to like you. I'm not saying you should be the "churchY" type or the other way round. Just be yourself; you are perfect just the way you are and don't forget to always change for the better. Anne cares!
