BARBARISM!!!

Tears rolled down his eyes,
He cried out in pain.
Brutally beaten to stupor.
Scars on his body,
Cut-skin and bruises.
The on-lookers watched,
as the mob carried out their insane act;
to burn a fellow human,
A distressed minor!!!
His last breath was terrifying.
Like a lion;
He roared as if he had lose his mane.
He probably cursed the land,
regretting being a Nigerian.
He gave up the ghost,
but his soul still bleeds,
yearning for justice.
How inhuman are we?
To kill another human,
for no just reason.
The world is evil.
We're lost in darkness.
The perpetrators turned  Saints overnight,
to cast a stone?
Their hearts are darker than a yawning grave.
Barbaric!! Uncouth and uncivilized.
Conscience sold for a meagre amount of "stolen garri",
bold enough to kill?
Our politicians have stolen almost everything.
We've done absolutely nothing.
Yet, we wallow in stupidity,
Trade our sanity,
trend Insanity,
and betray humanity.
Our society is dead!!
I weep for Nigeria.

THE PLOY

Enfolded in his dungaree, a feeling of jolt, Ben rested on the couch in his room grinning his teeth in agony. He was lost in his thoughts trying to figure out what eventually went wrong. His hair was disheveled and his eyes were sour red. "How will I make ends meet?" He looked deeply at the unpainted walls with a crude appearance, wishing he could find answers to his situation. The thoughts of the unfavourable and creepy economy made him burst out. He got sacked by his boss due to the theft incident that occurred. He knew it was a taint on his personality.
After few hours, he stood up stumbling intermittently to reach his cell phone. He searched through his contact list and was able to dial Tade's mobile number. Although, his hands were shaking swiftly. He gabbled with words "Errr.... Is this Tade??" Ben used to work with Tade, Salmat and a few co-workers before Tade left to become an entrepreneur, starting up her own clothing business. They worked in the financial department of the networking organization that fired him. They hadn't spoken to each other in a while. Tade responded to his call and they got talking. They spoke for about half an hour  trying to get some information about Salmat, He had suspected that she has got skeletons in her cupboard. The lies she told about him and the way she was able to manoeuvre the situation was unbelievable. He gave a detailed explanation to Tade about the spontaneous events that had happened in the organization. A ploy to discover the thief was soon reached. They planned to hire a private detective. The next week was set aside for recruitment. Tade was a reputable staff in the financial department before she resigned and being a competent staff, she was able to recommend a trusted person during recruitment. The plight was to get the private detective recruited.
Ben took a deep sigh of relief after speaking to Tade. He was caught up between leaping for joy because he found a way to sort out himself or just wailing  on the floor, knowing it will take some months before it got resolved. He took off his clothes and threw it to the corner of his bed. He was still heartbroken. His savings for his forthcoming wedding would be used to sustain himself for a while. He couldn't sleep till the early hours of the day when the night wasn't young any longer. For the rest of the week, he took just breakfast and dinner, excluding his lunch.
It was a lucent Monday morning, dressed in a blue pair of jeans and white shirt, Ben strolled into the eatery to meet both Tade and the private detective, Stella. He noticed they were beautiful but he didn't have the time to assess them. His present situation was a hard knock and it had to be fixed. The entire plan was laid out on a sheet of paper and the detective assured the culprit would be brought to the law. Tade paid the detective and the "game on" button was hit. The detective primary assignment was to know all the transactions that had taken place in the organization on and before the theft incident took place. Alongside being Salmat's good companion, if not the best.
Meanwhile, Ben broke the news of the postponed wedding date to his fiancée, Vivian. He had informed his own family about the change of date without consulting her. She was discomfited and wasn't ready to listen to him. Her pretty face was bathed in tears with much anguish. She slammed the door and left him speechless. He called her cell phone countless times, all to no avail. It dawned on him he had lost his wife-to-be, maybe temporarily in a bid to survive.
The plan was going on well. Stella related excellently with Salmat  pretending to be her best companion. In just a month and half, their friendship had grown really well. Scornful Salmat began to trust Stella with her confidential issues and evil deeds. One day, they had lunch in an eatery close to the organization where they worked. The whole details of the theft incident that occurred sprang up. She confided in Stella on how she arranged the missing sum of money in a "ghana-must-go"  bag and hired a man to rob the organization at night, giving the man keys to the office and inner room where some funds were kept. How she put the blame on Ben just to cover up her deeds was so unfair, Stella thought. She pretended to be in support of Salmat to the extent of hailing her. At the end of the lunch, Stella jotted out important details of Salmat's narration secretly.
The robber was traced and arrested through the information Salmat gave. He was detained and later interrogated. After so much torment, he confessed to his deeds. Salmat was arrested and got the axe from the organization. She lost her job permanently. The manager of the organization thanked Tade and commended her for such a great justice. He apologized to Ben and promoted him. He was also granted a huge sum of money. Ben was overwhelmed with joy.
Knock! Knock! Knock! "Don't tell me you're still sleeping!!! ", Tade screamed. Ben woke up from his sleep. It was all a dream. Tade and Ben were still co-workers and Salmat was still a cleaner. He went immediately to check the room where funds were kept. They were still intact.

FAITH!!!!!!

I sashayed through the hallway,
and caught a glimpse at faith.
Its reflection pierced the dark side of my mind,
exposing the doubts in me.
The ambiguities were clearly interpreted.
My anxieties were tabled before faith.
The battle line was drawn,
like a clash of the titans.
Faith conquered my fears,
bestowing the furnish proof of my existence.
Reinvigorating, I must acknowledge.

HOPE

Some opinions are pure fallacy,
others are misconstrued concepts.
One fact that's ever true,
one thing to live for;
Is HOPE.
In the darkest cloud and stormy days,
I choose to hope for better days.
For a human born of a woman,
or other scientific viable means.
Is worthy of living at the expense of disquietude,
or bitter anguish.
Everyone deserves a 'far beyond better' life.
Better than possible.
Yeah, it sounds plausible!
"Hold on, press endlessly!
To reap "Honour on profitable efforts".
.....and that's HOPE.

"If you have to win, you have to beat those winning. " Now the question is" Have you been winning or it's the other way round? " Now, let's be realistic. Life is full of challenges; cross a hurdle and the next awaits you. A challenge is said to be a bid to overcome something. A challenge is never a problem at first unless it has gone through several phases that makes it one. A problem is a difficulty that needs to be resolved because without it being resolved, it poses several consequences.
As we grow older, things change in our lives, several challenges come up. We learn to approach people properly, keep funny gestures out of formal gatherings, work harder when our career goals are at stake , how to be more confident, what to and what not to wear and on like that. In the time past, we've made several decisions we ought not to make that posed a drastic problem for us. Now is the time we have to wake up and stand firm. If we have to win in all aspects of our lives then we have to start putting things in place.
Now is the time we need to be aware of what we do, steps we take,  decisions we make and whom we choose as friends. Is our conscience still working out right for us? Let's take time to reflect on the things we do day in and out. Be wise and overcome life's challenges like the hero you were born to be. The time is NOW!!! Take charge of your life and make the best out of it. Live life!! Love life!!! Do it the right way!! Now is the time to be stronger than ever, sweeter than ever and better than ever. Help yourself, help your loved ones, help your dreams and help your future! You can be the best if you want to be. Don't forget to also be a warrior on your knees and join the winning team. Have a pleasant day guys!!

"SIDE CHICK" PRINCIPLE

Hey! Hey! Hey!... It's not too late to say "Happy new week!!". I've been free lately,  no school stress and all. The short break has been going smoothly and I'm happy about it.
.
.
.
Yesterday's was my bestie's birthday 🎂 and my day was alive and filled with awesome memories. Today, I woke up quite late, did some squats and decided to post something here.
.
.
.
I saw something like this while surfing the net. "If he has a side chick, it doesn't mean he's a cheat. There's a reason why it's called side chick". I laughed so hard and I remembered this friend of mine.
.
.
.
I had this friend dating a dude like dat with a lot of confidence and commitment . I used to love her zeal for keeping her relationship until I found out the dude was actually not faithful (that "wth" feeling). I met a level mate in a cab one day and he was discussing with his friends about the same guy my friend was dating. I call that "pimp shaming".
.
.
.
I decided to make my friend know about it. Well, I'm not used to meddling in people's private life. I thought it would be fair if I truly let her know who she's willing to spend her life with.
.
.
.
After our lectures,  I decided to have a short conversation with her. I made it known to her that her "supposed faithful man"  was maybe pretending to her. I turned out to be the bad person.  I wanted to ruin her life and all sort of things came through my mind. Seriously, I was only trying to help her stay away from that snare.
.
.
.
Years have gone by and we aren't as close as we used to be just because of the same guy.  Right now, her life is a mess.  She's the talk of her friends. They bitch on her everywhere they go and that hasn't been fair enough but what can I do??? Absolutely nothing. She has found out he's a renowned pimp and can't do anything about it.
.
.
.
Probably, she heeded to this same quote I saw. Too bad for ladies who believe their spouse having side chicks can still be faithful. I really don't understand that principle. If he's too busy with his side chick(s),  you are also one. Don't waste your time trying to keep a man that isn't staying.
.
.
.
Guys with side chicks, date girls of your kind. Stop deceiving serious minded souls. That's a very wrong thing. The same measure of what you do will be done to your sisters and even loved ones.
.
.
.
I still wonder how he can have side chick(s)  and still not be a cheat. It's like two contradicting statements. Girls!!! Please, stop being gullible.  It doesn't work that way.

DON'T JUDGE, CELEBRATE OLUMIDE ORESEGUN!!!

It's no news Olumide Oresegun's art work is going viral. He is being celebrated for his tremendous oil paintings. It reflects the culture, norms and demographic settings of Africa even as far as Africa's vibrancy. It's not even arguable but certain that "BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL".
.
.
.
.
Meanwhile, some of us are celebrating our talented brother, others are out there to spit venom on his work. Nigerians!!! but why?? Some particular set of people said his work is Paedophilia and it reflects something obscene. Like seriously!!!!  Some people got no chills.
.
.
.
.
This dude's work is close to perfect if it's not perfect. It has a great story to tell and obviously realistic. So why would some people be so quick to judge??
.
.
.
.
In life science lectures,  when they have to talk about anatomy and physiology of primates. Some lecturers bring nude pictures showing dissected parts of humans and all that. It doesn't mean the lecturers are perverts.
.
.
.
.
You don't know the purpose of something so why just criticize and interprete it the wrong way?? Nudity doesn't always mean sexual, if not all doctors must be perverts. If you don't like his work, do yours and let's see if it will be appreciated by everyone in this world.
.
.
.
.
You don't have to criticise everything, do you really have to???  Keep mute if you don't appreciate it.
